To promote careers in state and local government finance, GFOA annually awards a select number of $1,000 scholarships to GFOA members who are enrolled full- or part-time in a related degree program at a Louisiana university.

The scholarships are awarded at the Fall Conference each year.

Recipients are selected on the basis of career plans, academic record and/or experience, previous coursework and present plan of study, and grade point average.

Applicants must be a GFOA active member (or their government agency must have a government entity membership) and meet certain other eligibility requirements. Detailed information on the program is available from GFOA of Louisiana.
